Donations

You can donate to the Dictionary Project in three different ways-

Donate directly to Dictionary Project Kansas City. Your donation will be used to buy dictionaries for students in those schools where the need is greatest. Books will first be delivered to the schools with the greatest number of at-risk students, and to those schools with the lowest median incomes. Generally, these will be the schools within the inner cities of Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan.

Designate that your donation be used for a particular school. In this case, books will be delivered (by you or by us) to that school. Donors are asked to donate $175 per school, our average cost, which includes packing and shipping.  In this case we will coordinate with the school to ensure that they wish to participate and that they are not already sponsored, to ascertain their student count, and to make sure that we have a current contact name and phone number.

Or, if you know the schools that you want to work with and you prefer to work with them directly  just use our Order Form (in pdf format).  If you do this, please let us know which schools you are serving so that we do not duplicate our efforts.
